Who We Are ...

EduAction.Net is an international consulting network led by Reinhold Steinbeck and Keith Yocam, and headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA. The EduAction.Net team has extensive experience working internationally at the intersection between the science, practice, and technology of teaching, learning and design-innovation.

1. •Reinhold Steinbeck is an International Educational Development Specialist and Learning Designer. He has developed, directed, and evaluated innovative programs in education that have been implemented across Africa, Asia, South America and the U.S since 1990. His main interest involves applying design thinking methodologies to empower communities to improve their socioeconomic conditions through education and development. Steinbeck was with Stanford University for over 15 years, serving as Associate Director of Learning Design with the Stanford Learning Lab and Director of the International Program with the Stanford Center for Innovations in Learning (SCIL). Most recently, he founded and directed the International Outreach Program (IOP), an academic start-up which served as a bridge between Stanford University and universities around the world. He is currently founding Co-Director of the Laboratório de Design, Inovação e Criatividade (d-USPLeste) and Visiting Professor at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP). d-USPLeste is a new multi-disciplinary innovation program that applies human-centered and team-based approaches to developing innovative solutions to a variety of real-world problems in low-income urban communities (see TEDx talk). 2. •Keith Yocam has directed educational technology research and development teams for corporations and nonprofits since 1986. Throughout the 1990s, Yocam was Senior Scientist and Worldwide Program Manager for the Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow (ACOT) program. ACOT investigated the organizational, pedagogical and technical impact of student and teacher access to technology in classrooms. His experience in the non-profit field includes Director of Programs with Schools Online, a 501(c)3 organization which facilitated professional development to schools in disadvantaged communities worldwide. Yocam is an Adjunct Faculty Member with the Department of Education at Santa Clara University. He is on the Board of Directors of World Links, an innovative, award-winning, and independent not-for-profit enterprise, which leverages the unique potential of technology to bring opportunity and hope to disadvantaged youth around the world.
